no. Not unless your e-mail provider or on-line bill paying system requires it. I have NEVER seen them require flash for any of those features. The one exception is that some of MSN and the other chat client's features may require the flash player to send 'smiley's and such. Flash is a plug-in. It doesn not come with the browser. You can install flash, but you dont have too. Yahoo, Google do not use flash as their base. So the answer is you can live without flash. But no YouTube-they use it. Generally flash is used for straming videos, banners,adds. If you don not have it you will not see ads, banners. Some prefer not to. For general user experience flash is not needed. The reality is that almost everybody has it. It is easy to install . On Windows it is clik of a button.Get it anyway, you need it-yes. If you dont want it, do not install it. Do you need it- it is up to you.
